Terms of Service

Our fee promise (core to who we are):

0% mandatory platform fee on donations. You decide any optional tip to help keep the lights on and build better tools for classrooms. Full transparency on every transaction.

Example at checkout: “Your $50 gift → $50 to Ms. Rodriguez's 3rd Grade classroom (or exact items) + $2.50 optional tip to support ClassroomSponsors (you control it — change anytime). 0% mandatory platform fee. 100% transparent.”

1. Introduction & Acceptance + Important Notices

ClassroomSponsors, LLC operates the Platform to connect donors with K-12 educators for classroom support through cash donations and direct item gifting, with transparent impact reporting and community features.

We are not a 501(c)(3) charity. Tax-deductible donations available only when processed through a qualified fiscal sponsor partner (once live).
Teacher verification confirms basic eligibility only. It is not a background check, endorsement, or guarantee of how funds will be used.
Once funds reach a verified teacher (cash or items), the teacher has sole responsibility for compliant use per donor intent, school/district policies, and the law. We do not control or audit individual spending after disbursement.

2. Eligibility & Account Types

Teachers/Educators must be current K-12 at participating DMV schools. Parents/Supporters/Donors 18+. One account per individual. Platform not directed at children under 13.

3. Teacher Verification, Listings & Fund Usage (Tiered)

Tier 0 (School Email Fast-Path): Instant/near-instant via curated trusted DMV school domains (e.g. fcps.edu, k12.dc.gov, mcpsmd.org).

Tier 1 (Photo ID + Selfie): Redact sensitive info yourself + matching selfie. Human review (typically 12–48h). “Needs More Info” is kind, specific, and carries no penalty — re-upload and we re-review promptly.

Critical Verification Disclaimer: Verification confirms only basic eligibility. NOT a background check, criminal records search, endorsement, or warranty. We assume no liability for the actions or fund usage of verified teachers. Donors should review profiles and school policies independently.

4. Donations, Payments, Payouts & Fees — The Hybrid Model

Donate Cash (Teacher Wallet): Flexible support. Teacher decides best use.

Buy Specific Items: Choose exact supplies; ship directly when live.

0% mandatory platform fee. Optional “Support ClassroomSponsors” tip (suggested ~5%, default editable, set to $0 anytime). Payment processing fees disclosed. Teachers receive net designated amounts.

5. Community Features (“Fun Layer”) & 6. Fiscal Sponsorship Notice

Leaderboards, visualizations, and “Community Heroes” are opt-in only with strong defaults (Anonymous / “Proud [School] Parent” / hidden). Easy controls at donation time or later; changes propagate quickly.

ClassroomSponsors, LLC is a for-profit entity (Virginia LLC). We are not a 501(c)(3). Donations processed through qualified fiscal sponsor partner(s) may be tax-deductible. Receipts will name the sponsor. We make no tax advice.
